Game Summary

Knights' Lose with Splinters in Their Hands!

As the Fall Season starts, the Knights add a few players and try out some new wood bats, but the Phillies (old guy and all) got the best of the Knights on this night. The Morris Avenue field, the site of the game, is not known for its lighting, so when 2 bulbs blew out before the game started everyone knew it couldn't be good. Billy Vogt pitched a solid 5 innings allowing 3 earned runs on 11 hits and was able to strike out 5 despite the umpire's best efforts to reduce the strike zone to the size of a pea.

Offensively, a few Knights attempted to use wood, some for the first time ever. John Bosch was the only success going 1 for 1 with wood, but lost a bat in the process. The Knights threatened in the first and sixth leaving the bases loaded without any runs in both. Overall the Phillies just had a better day and the score reflected it.
