Tommy McGuire pitched the Knights to a victory, throwing 4 innings while striking out 4, walking 2 and allowing on 4 earned runs. Rob Maier, minus a few pounds of gastric juices, recorded the save by going 3 innings allowing no earned runs while striking out 4 and walking only 1.
Offensive, the Knights got some needed sparks from some unlikely places. Paxton Provitera lead the team going 4 for 5 with 3 RBIs, 2 runs scored, a triple and a stolen base. Pete Alfano has began heating up as the weather cools down, going 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored, 2 RBIs and a triple. Billy Nester rounds out the better than .500 on the day hitters going 3 for 5 with an RBI and a double. As far as the normal cast of characters, John Bosch, Richie Cave, and Billy Vogt all went 2 for 4 and Tommy Reilly hit a 3 run bomb with 1 hand. Sean McGuire, although going 0 for 2, used his other 4 at bats to draw walks, and then run trenches in the base paths stealing 6 bases including a straight steal of home!! This puts Sean in sole possession of the Knights single game stolen base record.
Overall, if the Knights continue this style of play, they'll not only make the playoffs, but they'll do fairly well and possibly even get thrown out of the Championship, again.
* The Knights need to win a few to make the playoffs!!!
* All MONEY is DUE IMMEDIATELY!!!
