With the game scheduled for 8pm, but wait the Storm want it to start at 8:30 so it does, the Knights were expecting 11, but only 9 showed. Rob Maier the projected starting pitcher came down with food poisoning, so he was unable to pitch or even wake up from his nap. Luckily Billy Vogt's arm was feeling fine and even though he doesn't enjoy playing the Storm, he took the ball for the first 3 innings. Billy did what he could, but the 75 man roster was too much, we'll get you a win next time and lots more after that too, Billy!! Tommy Reilly took the mound in the fourth and Jimmy McCaffrey finished it out with Storm only getting 1 hit while striking out 5 times in the fourth and fifth.
After hearing the biggest mouth on the Storm yelling at the batter to "hit him in the forehead", Jimmy struck out the side in the fifth, then proceeded to underhand the ball that eluded the final batter just moments before to him. Well the batter didn't appreciate that, so being the dickhead, jerk wad that he and most of his team are, he attempted to peg Jimmy as hard as he could from 3 feet away. Well, now we all know why he didn't go anywhere other than Stan Musial because he missed. Immediately the Knights rushed him, some pushing and shoving followed, but when all was said and done, the umpire decided, "He's on the Storm, he's too good for me to throw him out, he might get mad at me or something, and they'll take him out anyway." The rest of the game was just the Knights going through the motions as the Storm scored 3 to finish the mercy win at 12-2, but wait they even had to argue about the score, I guess we also know now why they don't have anything other to fall back on, they can't count!!!
Offensively, the Knights had 2 hits and reached 3 other times on walks. In the third inning, Jimmy McCaffrey walked, Sean McGuire singled, Pete Alfano moved them over and Tommy Reilly knocked them both in with a single. We no longer have to play this annoying, idiotic, pain-in-the-ass, get-everything-they-want team, so it's time to play some ball and have some fun.
Knights Knotes:
* The Knights don't have to play the LI Storm anymore!
* Time to really start playing!!!
