Game Summary

Four Lead Changes find the Knights on the Short End.

One of the best games, or at least 5 innings, of the year unfortunately ended with another Knights Division 1 loss. Dan O'Shea pitched to the short park inducing 8 groundballs and striking out 6. A couple hits and a "Greenlawn Park" homerun gave the Giants a 6-0 lead in the top of the first. In the bottom of the inning a reduced Knights squad got right back in the game scoring 4 runs on 3 hits a walk and a sacrifice fly, topped of by a John Bosch blast into the next county. O'Shea was able to hold the Giants to 2 runs over the next 4 innings, which allowed the Knights offense to take a 7-6 lead in the third, then re-tie the game at 8 in the 5th. The sixth inning found the Knights weakness on this day as Dan O'Shea tired and all arms seemed hurt. Billy Vogt picked up the 6th inning even though he needed Sean McGuire to all but carry his arm off the field, then in the seventh, Cooperstown Classic pitcher John Bosch was able to get 3 outs only giving up 1 walk and 1 hit, unfortunately it was a 2-run homer.

Offensive highlights included Eric Cox going 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and 2 stolen bases, Tommy Reilly going 2 for 3 with 3 runs scored, a walk an RBI and tying the Knights game record with 4 stolen bases fro the second time this season, and John Bosch who went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored, a walk, 2 stolen bases, 2 RBI's and a mammoth home run.
