Game Summary

Knights Sweep East Meadow Indians!

Again the day starts like normal, Paxton arrives first then almost everyone else gets there with just enough time to tie their shoes and hit the field. But then again starting Pitcher Rob Maier seems to be at his best when rushed onto the field with no warm-ups and we did score 16 in the first game to force a 3 inning mercy...hmmm. The first game went something like this: The Indians second batter singles and scores on a double, then they were done. The Knights get up, walk, stolen base, stolen base, walk, stolen base, sac fly, stolen base, single, stolen base, next inning, single, single, single, walk single...1 extra base hit (a Billy Vogt 2 RBI double) and a few wild pitches later the Knights had 17 runs with no outs in the bottom of the third and the game was over.

As is only the case in baseball, game 2 with the same 2 teams turned out to be a pitchers duel. Billy Vogt got his first win of the season by holding a good hitting East Meadow Indians team to 3 total runs even though the Knights offense and defense seemed to be helping the Indians. Offensively the Knights scored 4 runs off of 3 doubles and 9 total hits; defensively the Knights made 4 errors which turned into 2 unearned runs. Billy was most happy with the play of his battery-mate Hector Rolon who singled in 2 runs in the fourth inning making the score 4-1 at the time, but turned out to be the needed runs to pulled out the victory.
