The game started off badly and never really got good for the Knights. With only 2 outfielders the Phillies "placed" the ball well in the first inning scoring 3 runs off a single a 2 doubles all of which would have bee outs had 3 outfielders been in the field. The Knights tied the game in the third inning after scoring 2 in the second. Sean McGuire hit a double scoring Joe and then came on to score when Mike Hacker singled him in, in the second, then Richie Cave came in to tie the game in the third after singling to lead off the inning and scoring on an error by the shortstop. That's where the offense ended for the Knights.
The Phillies squeaked out a run in the bottom of the third when a 2 out single got by the right fielder on an attempted diving play to end the inning and then scored another run in the fourth on a throw in the dirt from Paxton on an easy groundball that should have ended the inning. With the game all but over, the Phillies tacked on 2 more runs in the sixth inning when the umpire decided there was a strike zone anymore.
Knights Knotes:
* The Knights proved an 18 man roster isn't enough when 12 of them have plans!
* Tomorrow is another day!
