Game Summary

Knights Dominate Nationals!

Late on a buggy, Sunday afternoon, the Knights and the Lindenhurst Nationals began a double header that ended in two wins for the Knights. Matt Levy, in possibly his final Knights appearance, let up two runs on only four hits to bring his record up to 2 and 2 as a Knight. For the second game, Dan O'Shea tested out his arm for a few innings - seven! With plenty of relief on hand, Dan proceeded to throw a complete game, 3 hit shutout...I guess his arm felt fine.

Offensively, the Knights took advantage of strong winds and short fences which resulted in 2 doubles (Ryan Cox and Pete Alfano) and 3 homeruns (Bobby Gruttadauria and 2 for Tommy Reilly). The Knights seemed to be at bat the entire day having runners on base almost every inning. Tommy Reilly finally got some pitches to swing at and showed why he shouldn't going 4 for 6 with 3 runs scored, 4 RBIs, 2 homeruns and his team leading 18th walk of the season.

In an unusual move, Paxton Provitera actually played during the second game making some great plays at first base. Between the Smirnoffs and the break dancing outfielder, there's not any question that Knights are not only a good team but also have PLENTY of fun!
